TORRINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) reported in its latest newsletter that crop production in the United States was “significantly” down in 2012 as compared to 2011.
Corn growers produced 10.8 billion bushels in 2012, compared to the 2011 total of 12.2 billion, a drop of 13 percent.
