Commissioners appoint 100-year party planners

Courtesy/ Homesteader’s Museum - The 100-year anniversary of Goshen County quietly passed on Jan. 7 to little fanfare. Created by the Wyoming Legislature in 1911 and approved by Gov. Joseph Carey, Goshen County officially became a county on Jan. 7, 1913.

TORRINGTON – In a unanimous vote, the Goshen County Commissioners appointed the Goshen County Chapter of the Wyoming State Historical Society to act as the steering committee for the county’s centennial celebration. Bob Melonuk, president of the historical society, addressed the commissioners during their meeting and proposed the arrangement.
