TORRINGTON – Rosalie C. (Forkner) Rose, 95, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Clay Center, Kan. Cremation has taken place.
A memorial has been established to Valley Christian School at 2441 East E St., Torrington, WY 82240.
Rosalie was born May 31, 1917, in Goodland, Kan., the daughter of Clyde William and Olive Chloe (Pollard) Lorimor.
She graduated from Selden High School in 1936, and, on Aug. 5, 1937, she married Ralph William Forkner in Pueblo, Colo.
Ralph worked in construction, and they lived in several towns in Colorado and Kansas. They moved to Clay Center in 1948. They then moved to Loveland, Colo. in 1964, a ranch in Encampment in 1967 and then to Lingle in 1974. Ralph died in 1977.
Rosalie married Clifford Rose in Lingle in 1979. Clifford died in 1991. Rosalie moved to Torrington in 1991 and over to Evergreen Court in 2002 and then the Goshen Care Center in 2012.
Rosalie was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church in Torrington. She enjoyed caring for family members and her grand and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and Bible study classes.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Anderson of Clay Center; a sister, Wilma Turney of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters-in-law, Nancy Forkner of Torrington and Jane Forkner of Augusta, Kan.; a sister-in-law, Irene Hillman of Clay Center; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Ralph Forkner and Clifford Rose; two sons, Albert and Ralph Forkner, Jr.; two grandsons, Troy Anderson and Dane Anderson and a granddaughter, Amy Forkner-Hatch.
