JACKSON – Goshen County Commissioner Jim Hudelson was the recipient of the Wyoming County Commissioners Association’s “Riding for the Brand” award, presented at the WCCA fall meeting on Sept. 19 in Jackson.

“Commissioner Hudelson was selected for this award by the

executive committee of the WCCA for his outstanding contribution to our organization as well as his contribution to his community and this state,” said WCCA President Joel Bousman, of Sublette County.

Hudelson is very active in county government, serving as the Goshen County Commission chairman, as a member of the WCCA Energy and Environment Committee and is the WCCA representative to the National Association of Counties. With these duties, he has committed many hours to representing his constituents at both a state and national level.

In his presentation speech, Bousman said that Hudelson “is always there when called upon, no matter the weather or circumstances. He wears many hats and is the glue and backbone of the communities in Goshen County. His leadership is tremendously valued by all he serves. He is a fixture in Cheyenne when the WCCA staff has needed help, and they rely heavily on his know-how in many areas, including his expertise with math and numbers.”

“I was totally shocked to receive this award,” Hudelson said. “I am known as the ‘King of the Spreadsheets,’ and it is a great feeling to have your skills appreciated. It is an honor to be recognized by the other commissioners for all of the work I have done.”

Hudelson will be included in reviewing and selecting next year’s award recipient.

The WCCA is an organization consisting of the Boards of County Commissioners of all 23 Wyoming counties. The WCCA exists to strengthen the counties and the people who lead them through a program of networking, education and unified action.
